New monograph focused on Arabic legal translation co-edited by Transius member

Co-edited by Sonia HALIMI, Issues in Arabic Legal Translation: New Insights into the Field includes recent research on legal translation into and from Arabic. The chapters explore the dynamic relationship between language and law from theorical and practical perspectives in a variety of national (including countries of the four regions of the Arab-speaking world) and international (e.g., the United Nations) settings conditioned by specific cultural landscapes, historical backgrounds and social dynamics. This monograph was conceived to serve as a key reference for researchers, practitioners and students. It includes a chapter by Sonia HALIMI on the translation of Arabic legal terminology at the United Nations and a foreword by Fernando PRIETO RAMOS, the director of the Transius Centre.
