María José RUBIALES SILGUERO holds a Diploma in Translation from the Fachhochschule Köln (1999), a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation, Interpreting and Applied Languages from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (2022) and a Master´s Degree in Specialised Translation from the Universitat de Vic - Universitat Central de Catalunya (2023). Her previous research focuses on legal translation in a European institutional context and on the quality of the machine translation tool eTranslation. She has several years’ experience as a freelance translator for various companies and translation agencies. In 2018, she joined the private sector, where she developed project management skills. She currently holds the position of Document Manager at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. In this position, she is responsible for managing translation projects for various types of corporate documents. In her thesis, provisionally entitled "La traducción automática y la posedición en el ámbito jurídico: Análisis del impacto de los sistemas de traducción automática en el sector privado y del papel del conocimiento especializado en traducción jurídica en la optimización de tales sistemas" (supervised by professor Fernando PRIETO RAMOS), she studies the impact of machine translation and the integration of post-editing into the workflow of legal translators.
