Recent publications

Valérie DULLION’s research focuses on legal translation and institutional plurilinguism from a historical perspective. In 2007, she published a book entitled Traduire les lois: un éclairage culturel. As part of Histoire des traductions en langue française, a series under the direction of Yves Chevrel and Jean-Yves Masson (the first book was published in 2012), she is compiling the chapters on legal translation in the 19th and 20th centuries. She cofounded the Transius Centre in 2012 and is on the executive board of Parallèles. She is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting of the University of Geneva, where she teaches legal translation courses at the postgraduate level as well as continuing education courses. She is also head of the French Unit and co-director of the Translation Department. She has conducted several workshops on translating and revising legal and administrative documents for Swiss institutions and companies. She holds a Translation degree from the University of Geneva and a PhD in Linguistics from UCL (Louvain-La-Neuve).
