International Geneva Award granted to Prof. Prieto Ramos

Professor Fernando PRIETO RAMOS has received an International Geneva Award for his publication "International and Supranational Law in Translation: From Multilingual Lawmaking to Adjudication". This distinction was created by the Swiss Network for International Studies (SNIS) in order to encourage outstanding research scientists to produce publications of particular relevance to international organisations, and to promote links between academics and International Geneva. Publications are selected by the International Geneva Committee, composed of representatives of international organisations in Geneva. Three articles were selected as the winners of the 2014 Award, including Prof. Prieto’s publication. His paper analyses the defining features and the role of legal translation in the creation and application of international and supranational law, taking a comparative approach between different organisations and their respective adjudicative bodies. The jury highlighted the originality, interdisciplinary approach and direct policy relevance to international organisations of the winning papers.
