Marie-Hélène GIRARD holds a degree (2009) and Master of Arts (2011) in Translation from the University of Montréal as well as a certificate in Spanish (2005) from the University of Québec in Montréal. She is currently working on her doctoral thesis at the University of Geneva under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Claude Gémar and Prof. Fernando Prieto Ramos. Her thesis focuses on the jurilinguistic dimensions involved in integrating international criminal law into national systems. She currently works as a lecturer at the University of Montréal (legal translation) and has been working as a freelancer since 2009. She is a certified translator of the Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec (OTTIAQ) and a member of the Canadian Association for Translation Studies (CAT).
